The launch of Lazard CL marks a significant expansion of Lazard's financial advisory footprint beyond its traditional mergers, restructuring, and asset management businesses. Private capital advisory — which typically encompasses fund placement, secondary advisory, and related services for private equity, infrastructure, and credit managers — has become an increasingly competitive and high-demand segment as institutional allocations to alternative assets have grown.
By absorbing Campbell Lutyens, a specialist firm with deep relationships across institutional investors and private fund managers, Lazard gains an established team and client base that broadens its reach in a market where scale and relationships are critical differentiators. The combined entity, operating under the Lazard CL brand, is now expected to compete directly with other large-scale private capital advisory businesses globally.
